“After having three boys and being on a roller coaster of weight loss and gain my whole life, I decided to commit myself to a year of health and fitness. With my trainers at Tru Fitness, I set a weight loss goal of 20lbs at the beginning of the year. I attended the Group Training classes at Tru Fit 3-4 days/week, worked out at home for 30 minutes doing strength and interval workouts when I couldn’t make it to classes and fit in personal training sessions to really customize my workouts.
For me, the biggest makeover of all has been my eating. I used to track my calories but wasn’t successful because I would still eat bad things as long as they were in my calorie allowance. I love sweets! Slowly, I started cutting sugar out of my diet, and started reading labels for hidden sugar. With the guidance of my Tru Fit trainers, I eat based on portion control, eating from all the food groups, eating clean, mostly unprocessed foods, and drinking lots of water!
In 10 months, I lost 55 lbs, dropped 3 pant sizes and haven’t had a month of plateau yet. And for the first time in my life, I ran and finished an entire 5K without training a single step for it. I have a ton more energy as a result of eating the right kinds of food and exercise. I’m able to outlast my little kids and all of their energy.
I have made many friends at Tru Fit because the studio is so personal. It feels like the show “Cheers” where everyone knows your name. All the attendees are encouraging and supportive of each other, creating a very positive environment for people with all different fitness levels and goals. I have worked out with trainers in the past, but my trainers at Tru Fitness have elevated themselves in the field with their creative training style, wealth of knowledge and personal interest in their clients.” ~Jamie
